If you call or write Pro Flowers about their Rush Limbaugh sponsorship, you get a form letter that is weak in its condemnation of Limbaugh, and specific about not pulling their advertising.

If you call their 800 #, they transfer you to a recording that is essentially the same as above.

Interestingly enough, almost 5,000 people have gone to their Facebook page. Their story is in interesting one.

The company was started by Jared Polis. Yep, the first openly gay male freshman congressman from Colorado.
If you grew in the southwest, you probably show the whole line of New Age greeting cards et al by his mother Susan Polis Schutz. He digitized it all and made a fortune, among
his many ventures was Pro Flowers. He sold it to Provide Commerce which sold it to Liberty Media.

Does that name ring a bell? Yep, John Malone, major wingnut bud of the Koch brothers. Serves on the Cato Institute board.

Other Provide Commerce: Brands

ProFlowers – flowers
Cherry Moon Farms – gourmet fruit and gift baskets
Shari's Berries - covered strawberries and other gourmet food gifts
RedEnvelope - upscale gifts for all occasions
Florist Express - same day flower and gift delivery throughout the United States.
Personal Creations - gifts

I say, we boycott them all.
We go to all of their social media and customer feedback sites, and let them know what we think.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

We can assume that these individuals who own this enterprise echo the vulgar sentiments of Rush Limbaugh.

We can assume that they are as mysogenistic as is the man whom they financially support to continue his destruction of civilized discourse in our society.

We can assume that these people are totally in synchrony with the mindset of Rush Limbaugh and are undeserving of our business.

They may believe in their stupidity that getting this adverse attention will bring them added business; they couldn't be more incorrect as their reputation was sullied significantly by their doublespeak and foot dragging in the past 24 hours.

ProFlowers will be able to look back and rue the day they remained in support of mysogenist Rush.

is quite telling of their mindset and mission statement.

Despite the brave steps taken (or not so brave in view of a devastating boycott and loss of support of THEIR respective businesses) by these other companies who have been sponsoring hate speech in this country, we need to take a long, hard second look at them and decide if they are worthy of continued business by the american people.  After all, Rush has been a disgusting, mentally deranged voice in this country for years now - thanks to their support - so perhaps we need not give them such a quick 'pass' for doing the humane thing given the level of intense scrutiny and pressure we've been handing them??

    That comes later
....These companies are not off the hook yet, folks!

    From their own website.
And I know for a fact that some of the listed companies also own companies not on that list. For instance Two Peas in a Bucket.
