I found out about this yesterday. Jeff Huber joined Daily Kos on June 2, 2005
Jeffry Lyle Huber, 57, died Jan. 24, 2012, in his home. No services are planned at this time. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
Commander Jeff Huber, U.S. Navy (retired), was a naval flight officer who commanded an aircraft squadron and was operations officer of the USS Theodore Roosevelt, the carrier that fought the Kosovo War. Jeff earned a master of arts degree in post-modern imperialism at the U.S. Naval War College. His weekly satires on U.S. foreign policy high jinks are archived at his blog, Pen and Sword. Jeff's critically applauded novel Bathtub Admirals, a lampoon of America's rise to global dominance, is on sale now. Jeff lives with dogs in a house by the beach on Chesapeake Bay in Virginia, and in the summer he has a nice tan.Besides writing for Daily Kos, Jeff also wrote articles for AntiWar.com. This was his last post at his blog Pen and Sword
May the Goddess guide him on his journey to the Summerlands. May his family, friends and the world, find Peace.
The Wheel Turns
This is the final up date. I want to thank everyone for their kind words and their recommendations. I am going to post the link to this diary on Jeff's memorial page at Holloman-Brown. I hope it gives his family and friends some comfort knowing how well respected and loved Jeff was by this community.
I have one last thing to add, The Navy Hymn, with thanks to wishingwell for the video. Both my step father and my uncle were Navy men who served in WW2 in the Pacific. They both would have liked Jeff's wry wit and knowledgeable insight.
