Good afternoon fellow Kossaks. We all know the famous Nietzsche observation and quote “He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you.”
Beyond Good and Evil, Aphorism 146 (1886)
I am wondering if there is any value in a liberal Rush-like monster, because I sometimes feel like one. Let me explain. You don’t know me, but my liberal bona fides are solid. Yet my political correctness is balsa wood weak. I understand and accept that one can achieve more victories by absorbing and converting the enemy than by fighting. Yet I also accept the flip side of the coin that one must stand up to bullies, or face a life of being bullied.
The diary “I've spent the past 2 days trying to convince my 16 y/o she is not a "slut" **Final update tonight” is the tipping point that caused me to write this diary. See, when I read a diary like that I have one thought regarding the males that disparage women in this way. It’s a thought I don’t see said much, so I’m confident it is not a nice or appropriate thing to say, but I’m going to say it this once to see how many troll rates I collect.
You ready?
Oh man I’m afraid to write this. Kissing my TU status goodbye right now…
I think a large portion of Rush’s listeners are losers who can’t get laid.
I do. I know it’s not a productive or positive thought. I know it is a mean spirited thought, but I can’t shake it. I think they are more than tools, I think they are the whole tool shed. I’d be sympathetic, having not been the super cool dude I am now my whole life, except I can’t sympathize with the bitter women hating streak.
Now I’ve got a ton of friends, some of whom are hard core repugs, but they are all repugs on the econ side. They make tons of money, and have concluded that 2.5% on their marginal tax rate is better than public schools. I think they are wrong, but if 2.5% is $25,000, at least I can see where they are coming from.
But with the birth control, I can’t find a soul in my universe sized universe that will defend this. We all come to the same conclusion. If you don’t want women to have birth control, you are a loser who can’t get laid.
Why can’t we be screaming this from the tops of every mountain? Because it’s not a nice thing to say. It’s mean. I know it’s mean. But they are mean. Worse, they are mean losers who can’t get laid. What kind of sissy is over the age of (fill in age you lost your v-card here) doesn’t want women to have access to birth control. Heck I think it should be 100% subsidized by the government, and I’d like free condom dispensers placed every 1000 feet, on a grid, all over America. Because I’d take one every once and a while.
So 1) I’m sorry for sharing my mean thought. I know not everyone has luck with the ladies. Still, there’s no reason to get bitter about it, after all, most folks who are nice find their match eventually.
2) I know it’s a mean thought. I know it’s not politically correct to say it.
Can we say it? Can we call them out for being losers who can’t get laid?
I’ve got to work so I can’t monitor this diary and respond all day, as much as I would like to. How about if you think I’m a terrible person who should delete this diary, just write “Delete” in the subject heading of your comments. If I get 10 deletes I’ll delete it. I’ll check back in 1.5 hours.
I really think we shouldn’t be putting up with this crap. I’m not cowtowing to the loser who can’t get laid part of the population. They need to grow up and learn to be nice, then maybe they’d get laid.
Also sorry for saying the word “laid” so much. I’m sure that’s inappropriate too. I’d replace it with “have consensual sex” but that doesn’t have nearly the same impact in my mind.
Again I will remove this at 1:00 EST and check again at 3:00 EST to see if I've crossed a line. Please be nice and just tell me to delete if I should delete. Thank you.
9:08 AM PT: Update: I forgot the most important part. There is value in calling them losers. No one likes a loser. See: Life/Sports/Music/All things.
The portion of the population that will stand up and say "I'm a loser who can't get laid" is small. I don't need a cite for that. By attaching anyone who is anti-birth control to "loser who can't get laid", we will shrink the vocal anti-birth control portion of the population. Follow me there? Thank you for your kind words.
