...because he keeps using it. Santorum mentioned this today in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. And the article I spotted today mentions him using the same idea in 2010. Question is, how long will other news cover for Rick as he compares the President to a drug dealer? How long until this gets Santorum the kind of attention he deserves?
Santorum said the president's health care law in a new addictive drug.
"That's how they see you, as people, to get hooked like a drug dealer, someone to become dependent on them and once that happens, they got you," Santorum said during a speech to several hundred people at Grace Church late Sunday. "America is changed forever. No country that has socialized medicine has ever gone back the other way, no country that has lost its freedom has ever regained it."
Always with the selective hate for socialism. We never talk about, say, socialized losses in the banking industry...
The CBS news piece also makes mention of a 2010 speech from Santorum, where he made the same comparison about Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid, something that was picked up on by Buzzfeed and also in Patience John's diary from February 23rd.
I am not reminded as much of the 2010 election season, however, as much as some other, more recent remarks about drugs in reference to black politicians. But I'm getting old...I may not be able to pick up on those high-frequency signals. Dog-whistle politics or typical discharge of Santorum, I can't be sure.
