After his party tried to blame a massive voter suppression campaign across Canada on one staffer, dismiss the entire scandal as a smear campaign, and blame the victims for it using completely false evidence, Conservative Member of Parliament Maurice Vellacott has finally figured out the true culprits: Elections Canada.
"I suspect that at the end of the day, if Elections Canada has the resources to do a proper investigation, they'll find they're themselves significantly responsible," Saskatchewan MP Maurice Vellacott said in a statement.
I couldn't make this up if I tried. Basically...
"Because Elections Canada too frequently provides incorrect information, and secondly because technological problems occur with trying to merge Elections Canada info for phone lists, there is a significant potential for error.
"Hired live phoners or automated calling systems are only as good as the data provided to them. You know the saying, 'garbage in, garbage out.'"
... Elections Canada is apparently quite inept, and thus it ends up accidentally giving out false information... to opponents of the Conservative Party. I'm
sure this explains the tens of thousands of complaints that have been made to Elections Canada about fraudulent election-related calls. I'm
sure it's a great idea to blame the primary investigator of the scandal for the scandal.
Well, at least it's less idiotic than the attempt to blame the Liberals.
