It's time to contact the Federal Communications Commission to remove Rush Limbaugh off of our Publicly-Financed supported airwaves.
We at ROJS News, have taken the unusual stance of starting this article with a statement of opinion, rather than a statement of facts and here's why.
Our podcast arm Featured Podcast ROJS Radio hosted by Monica RW & Autumn S airs each weekend on the Blog Talk Radio network. Both Autumn and I are women, engaging in Michigan & National Political Talk discussions rather frequency. To say that we're insulted by self-described "Entertainer" Rush Limbaugh statements about Sandra Fluke would be a understatement.
To date, fourteen Major Sponsors and three radio affiliates of "The Rush Limbaugh Show" decided to pull support for his comments in reference to Georgetown University Student Sandra Fluke testimony, before the U.S. House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee February 23rd. To review Ms. Fluke's statement, please click this link.
But, there's a larger issue here. Rush Limbaugh programming is supported by Clear Channel Communications, accountable to the Federal Communication Commission for what's broadcast on Federally-Regulated/Tax Supported airwaves, in operations by our tax dollars. This easily verifiable fact can be reviewed on the FCC's website.
Which raised a question in our minds. Specifically, why can't Rush Limbaugh continue his "freedoms" and speech on the currently unregulated podcast or internet video broadcast world? Really, allow us a minute to explain our point of view here.
No one is telling Limbaugh or his "freedom loving Patriot's" supporters like Sean Hannity, Sarah Palin, Lifelock, Gold Coin Pro or his "Ditto Heads" followers Limbaugh shouldn't have a right to Free Speech guaranteed by our United States Constitution. But, even the Constitution doesn't state that our society can't assign penalties when one decides to uses vulgar speech.
In Limbaugh case, he decided to call Ms. Fluke statement before our U.S. Congress, her and her family names we refuse to re-dictate here on ROJS News. His exact statement in its' entirely can be found on the LeftAction.org petition.
Another "Entertainer" removed off of MSNBC's morning programming and CBS Radio in 2007, Don Imus, believes Limbaugh's statement on Ms. Fluke to be a "Vile, personal attack" and relates Limbaugh's statement five days later a "insincere pig" being apologetic because they were caught.
"Here's the problem with all this. It was a vile personal attack of this woman and it was sustained overâwhat it wasâWednesday, come back and double down on Thursday, come back and double down on Friday, and then, issue a lame apology on your website in which you say, 'I didn't mean to personally attack her,' when you did attack her.
If it were me, and I ran a radio station or whatever, I'd make him go down there and apologize to her face to face. He owns a Gulfstream IV. Get on it. Go to Washington. Take her to lunch and say, 'Look. I'm sorry I said this stuff and I'll never do it again.' Period. No. He's an insincere pig. Pill-popping pinhead...It's disgraceful.
He has no guts...Look what I did, and what I did was a lame attempt to be funny. And it was three words and I went and met with these people after I'd been fired. You know you got to look them in the eye, you've got to show guts...He's a punk...Enough of what he said. He's a coward. You can't attack somebody like that."
We call on all of ROJS Media readers, listeners and supporters via
ROJS News and R
OJS Radio-Independent-Left Michigan & National Political Talk on the Blog Talk Radio Network, contact the Federal Communication Commission encouraging the governmental body to remove "
The Rush Limbaugh Show" off of
Publicly Supported & Financed airwaves.
To further communicate our point, here's a comment we wrote in response to Former Superintendent of Education in Michigan, Tom Watkins, Op/Ed article on our local news resource Ann Arbor.com.
As a Republican, Mr. Watkins, THANK YOU for writing this column stating publicly that Rush Limbaugh vicious attack on Georgetown University Law Student Sandra Fluke was wrong, You are correct and stand on the right side of this issue.
The second point I would like to make: The Rush Limbaugh Show is supported via the Federal Communication Commission by all of our tax dollars paid to the Federal Government. Why?
If Limbaugh believe (regardless of his so-called apology after losing 8 major sponsors) degrading Ms. Fluke and other women is a form of "Political Talk", let him REMOVE his program off of OUR PUBLICLY-FINANCED airwaves, onto the internet.
There, he can use his "version" of "free-speech" all day long. The key to this, he would have to PRIVATELY-FINANCE his program in TOTAL....no Federal Tax Dollars support period.
Considering Rush "loves his freedoms" and his supporters are "so-loyal", he should have no problems getting his "fans" to follow his "show" on the internet. Right?
So, for Mr. Watkins and other Republicans who feel strongly that Limbaugh's comments about Sandra Fluke were highly-inappropriate, wrong and not fitting for Publicly-Financed radio....contact the FCC here: http://esupport.fcc.gov/... and tell the Governmental Organization to remove Rush Limbaugh NOW!
To find a list of sponsors of The Rush Limbaugh Show to target, we have a link to the FULLY LIST (Major & Secondary Sponsors) here: http://bit.ly/....
Thank you again, Mr. Watkins.

Also, for those who say that Limbaugh "freedoms" would be impeded by removing his program from
Clear Channel Communications and Rush Privately-Financing it via. let's say the "Freedom Loving Patriots Network" on the internet, we disagree.
Alex Jones of Infowars has a loyal following on Facebook and is quite successful at this venue. Before moving a version of the programming to Current TV, "The Young Turks" had a strong audience via their You Tube Channel. We sure that Limbaugh's "Ditto-Heads" will follow him wherever he goes, right?
So yes, Limbaugh should definitely take his "version" of "freedom loving, woman hating, racist baiting Patriotism" elsewhere, anywhere but our Publicly-Supported & Finance via tax dollars, airwaves.
If you stand with Sandra Fluke and along with ROJS Radio's call to #BoycottRush, contact the FCC today to complain about "Entertainer" Rush Limbaugh programming on Clear Channel Communications.
Thank you!
