The fighting may continue all the way to the convention but the Republican Establishment has already installed their 6th consecutive dismal candidate. Who was the weakest of them all?
Not since Reagan has a non-establishment Republican won the nomination. Bush Sr. was heralded as the "third Reagan term" and proved to be impossibly-outmatched by Clinton when the Ronny dust wore off.
Bob Dole was incoherent.
Junior can't be considered a "weak" candidate because he won both terms, but really only because Gore hadn't reached his peak at the time and Kerry simply never did.
John McCain was stronger than most but couldn't compete with Obama.
Now, Mitt Romney seems to be anointed.
Who is the weakest GOP candidate in the group?
