This is a pretty cool development for the state of Idaho.
Said LeFavour in a Friday twitter post, “I’m running for Congress because I love Idaho and we can do better.”
She is a really neat lady and would be a great addition to the Democratic ranks in the House of Reps.
When my wife and I took our kids to Idaho Pride, we heard her speak. It was really cool to hear some of her perspective of what it is like in the Idaho House of Representatives.
She admitted it is "hard".
And I have no doubt in my mind it is.
I was an intern for Clint Stennett when Idaho decided to bash on gays even more and adopt a constitutional amendment to make sure they can't get married in the state of Idaho.
Hearing some of the senators speak that day bugged me, but what bothered me the most were the sighs of "relief" that the gays wouldn't be ruining the "sanctity" of marriage in Idaho. Those were the worst smiles I had ever seen.
So seeing this news brings a good smile to my face. I'm extremely sure she will be an underdog for this, but who knows, maybe she'll be able to pull of the upset?
I just hope that she'll get some grassroots support, and some support from the Daily Kos community, to help get her elected.
Idaho needs this.
Seriously.
