I have just finished watching "Game Change." (OK, I can afford HBO.)
Julianne Moore's performance is outstanding. It is not the parody of Tina Fey. Everything you have read that you feel sorry for Palin is absolutely right.
So, what do you learn? Maybe not a whole lot except two things.
First, John McCain clearly did not put America First. He made a horrible decision that was based on a desire to win. Fortunately, his horrible decision did not come to pass. However, that he is still respected by anyone at the national level should raise serious questions about his desire to put America First.
See Charlie Pearce's review on this point.
Second, we learn why Steve Schmidt regularly appears on MSNBC. He is doing penitence for creating Sarah Palin as a national figure worthy of leading our country. Clearly, he informed this film and clearly he feels guilty about what he has done.
It is clear he regrets what he has done. It is unclear he should be forgiven for that realization.
Correction: I misspelled penitence in the original post.
