As the title indicates, Fmr. Rep Alan Grayson, while driving his mercedes ran a red light and crashed into a Bus, and injured some folks on it.

Alan Grayson runs red light and crashes into Bus

Thankfully, according to the Orlando Sentinel, the injuries for the two individuals appear to be slight and the folks will recover from them.  But Grayson's Mercedes appears to be seriously damaged.  Orlando Sentinel

Before I begin, I see nothing in any of the reading as to the status of Grayson himself.  I hope he wasn't gravely injured and if he was injured, I hope he has a quick recovery.

That said, this probably will not help his efforts as a candidate as two other things are discussed.  First, he was on the way to a fundraiser.  Not a good image to have as an individual who ran a red light while on the way to get money for his campaign. Next, Police will cite him as the person responsible for the accident, which is damaging.

If he is okay (and again, I hope that he is) then he may no longer be viable as a candidate in the 9th district.  It's not the accident itself.  It's the imagery.  It's pretty damn powerful to run an ad based on this again and again.  Also, I wouldn't put it past the GOP to put it into a character attack.

We may need to start looking for another person to run for this seat.

UPDATE: It appears that Grayson and his passenger are Ok.  H/T Kurious

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
