Spring is here, the Occupy movement has survived the winter, and now, it's time to get busy (again) and take the fight back to the One Percent. Here's a quick and easy start, from the New York City General Assembly on Twitter.
@OccupyWallStNYC
Thx to all who 'donated their accounts' to us so far! We just fired off our first tweet from your tweet-cannons! http://t.co/... #OWS
It's really simple: click on
this link, and follow the instructions. You'll be asked to authorize @OccupyWallStNYC to send one tweet a month, a week, or a day, whichever you prefer (I signed up for one tweet a day, because it really
is that important) from your account.
But wait, there's more.
You can also 'donate' your Facebook account, at the same link. It's the same kind of access you would give any other Facebook app, and the best part? It won't cost you a dime, your data remains secure, and you'll be doing something really important: reminding all of your friends and followers that Occupy goes on.
Now you may think that your few dozen or hundred followers and friends won't make much of a difference. You might think that, but you'd be wrong. Check out this app to find out how many people your followers, the people who subscribe to your personal feed on Twitter, reach between them. In my case, for my main Twitter account, that would be just south of three million people. Those are real numbers. Make them count.
Now is the time. This is our moment.
So, will the Daily Kos community stand with Occupy Wall Street?
