Today's been a slow day. That's about to change as people prepare for the upcoming week when most folks will be taking their furlough days and they've just realized it's 2 hours before the end of the day and they aren't set up yet.
That means Itzl hasn't had a lot of work to do. He's been mostly napping.
And when he does alert, it's a casual, "Yo, there's some noise over there. Check it out, willya? A guy's gotta get his beauty sleep in."
At least he alerts. Sometimes, when things get really slow and he gets thoroughly bored, he barely opens an eye to alert on things.
I've tried to liven things up for him by working on teaching him some more signs to give me. He doesn't like the "water" sign provided by the K9Sign people. He wants his "water" sign to be the "water" sign, and I may just cave and let him have it. After all, he's used it successfully for 7 years. So, we'll move on to "car danger" which is a very important signal for him to give. Right now, he gives the same signal for a back up beep that he gives for a cell phone ringing or a timer. Now I know I can teach him a different signal for each - we don't need the cell phone ring because I don't have a cell phone or a telephone.
