More than 500 people are re-occupying Zucotti Park in NYC right now.
If you are in NY, get there now.
We told you that there would be a spring offensive.
Occupy Wall Street.
Many updates.
Livestream
Edit1: Since I started watching, folks have been doing group NVDA workshops, namely one where everyone does a soft blockade in a cardinal direction (seems dangerous imo), one where everyone pretends to be a civilian and walks away if unwanted arrests are imminent (start using your cell phone), and Toyi-toyi (which they practiced with a loop of the park, which was pretty sweet). Now people are doing general announcements, such as one person announcing that they've learned that they don't need money (which got a lot of "woo!"s) but they do need food, and that there's apparently a farm network with 2000 acres willing to donate to OWS.
Chants: "Ah! An-ti! Anticapitalista!" "We are unstoppable! Another world is possible!" "All day, all week, occupy wall street!" "Whose park? Our park!"
Edit2: People are just milling around right now. Another livestream just did a walkaround of the park and there are at least 400 and maybe 700 occupiers and a very small number of police who are just monitoring. I forgot who mentioned it but someone made the point that the entire NYPD is probably out getting hammered right now.
Edit3: Bagpiping reinforcements lolwut??
Edit4: Some kind of massive pipe-and-fife band is trying to march and the NYPD is being dicks.
Edit5: Sounds like the NYPD blocked the band from joining and cleared the street (not that anyone's going to use it considering the massive number of police in it) and took the opportunity to take down a makeshift tarp-tent that had been put up. remains of tent
Edit6: The NYPD may actually arrest a fucking Celtic marching band.
Edit7: Apparently they arrested a bagpiper. Cop Logic is that the band is actually French and they had to be grabbed and detained because they didn't speak English and there was a safety issue, or something? Whatever, ACAB.
Edit8: video of tent being destroyed
Looks like another tent may be going up with a soft blockade
"1! We are the people! 2! We are united! 3! This occupation is not leaving!"
Edit9: Metric shit-load of cops moving in, sounds like a dispersal order
Edit10: NYPD announcing that "Brookfield properties needs to clean the park, the park is closed, leave or you will be arrested for trespass".
Edit11: aaaand it looks like everyone's getting arrested.
Edit12: Some fucking jackass is defending the fucking pigs by saying, "Sir, they're doing their job." We've fucking been over this!
Edit13: "No justice, no peace- take to the streets, and fuck the police"
People may have been kicked out rather than arrested. Brookfield Properties wage-slaves are setting up barricades; Timcast says that's in violation of a court order. Police are also chaotically clearing adjacent sidewalks.
Edit14: "Ron Paul's Voice" sends out a Tweet over #OWS, #Anonymous, #TeaParty, and #RonPaul literally once per minute.
Edit15: Arrestees are being loaded into NY MTA buses, which is apparently also illegal.
It occurs to me that I should have been timestamping these updates. Oh well.
Edit16: A march has reportedly gone to City Hall chanting anti-cop slogans.
A woman is being taken away in an ambulance. She may have had a seizure or her ribs may have been cracked (from being beaten) and she hyperventilated. It took 10 minutes for an ambulance to arrive. Someone apparently has video of the beating. She's being referred to as a "girl in green".
Police are expanding the barricade to the sidewalk.
Edit17: March is apparently on Canal St right now or not long ago.
Rumor: 100 arrests.
Edit18: It's decayed into a bunch of random marches, which I haven't seen ever end well.
"1, 2, 3, 4, I declare a class war. 5, 6, 7, 8, eat the rich and smash the state"
Edit19: Better video of Cecily McMillian being attacked
Edit20: Some serious shit happening on this stream, I'm not sure where it is.
"Cops! Are! The army of the rich!"
Edit21: Larger march has entered Union Square apparently (I know nothing about NYC geography). Someone was slammed into a window hard enough to break the glass. Lots of reports of people with injuries.
"Occupy! Shut it down! Revolution in this town!"
Edit22: Video of guy being shoved into window at 3:50
Last edit: Picture of bus window someone was smashed into
