The Duggar's support Santorum. Not that much of a surprise really, however, they apparently felt the need to express that support with a commercial.
As a general matter I find the Duggars upsetting. There are only two absolutely positive things I can say about them. First, unlike the majority of the Right they aren't being absolute hypocrites when they talk about the evils of birth control. I'm pretty sure this is one couple that has never actually used contraceptives. Second, their family and their show is a great exemplar of why birth control is such a wonderful thing. Want to have sex in marriage and not end up like the Duggars? Then birth control is your friend.

This latest venture into exploiting your children to advance your radical world view though is particularly creepy. There are many moments over which to shake your head, including thought bubbles on a baby in what I guess is supposed to be a cute gimmick and a little girl proclaiming her love for a man she probably doesn't know. However, all the obvious script reading and the occasional slightly panicked look on a child's face isn't the worst. For me ithat moment is when a little boy said "legislate from the bench", parroting what he was told with almost realistic fervor even though there is no way he could possible understand the meaning of those words.
We are all entitled to raise our children to embrace our values. Everyone indoctrinates their kids to some extent. They are impressionable and pick up on things without questioning. However, teaching them to spit out talking points isn't the same thing as teaching them.
