I'm not sure what to even make of this, but apparently we'll be finding out more anytime now.
Mediaite:
Last week, we reported that Nadia Naffe, self-described “accomplice” to conservative activist James O’Keefe , had begun publishing a multi-part tell-all series of posts to her blog. Thursday morning, Naffe published the second part, which details her version of the events that led her to file a criminal harassment complaint against O’Keefe in November, and which includes documents related to a sexual harassment settlement between O’Keefe and “CNN Sex Boat Caper” whistleblower Izzy Santa. O’Keefe filed suit against Naffe on Wednesday to obtain an injunction against publication of those documents, and of emails that O’Keefe claims she stole from his computer.
Wait, I thought breaking into things and stealing stuff was just "journalism," according to the O'Keefe crowd. So what's he whining about?
The details so far are already very ... odd, and involve Naffe claiming that O'Keefe perhaps drugged her in order to do filthy O'Keefe-like things to her—oh, and stole some of her underwear? O'Keefe says Naffe tricked him into letting her stay in a barn on his property where his office was (yeah, I don't know, whatever) in order to secretly copy emails from his computer. There is at least a little actual new information already, though, on O'Keefe's attempted framing (for unclear reasons) of CNN reporter Abbie Bourdeau by luring her onto a boat O'Keefe furnished with sex toys: it cost O'Keefe $20,000 to settle a sexual harassment lawsuit with the whistleblower from that case, the member of his team that tipped Bourdeau off. Apparently, at this rate, settling sexual harassment lawsuits is going to be a major business expense for this guy.
So far, then, the revelations appear to rely around the not-all-that-surprising suggestion that James O'Keefe may in fact be a sleazy creep whose sad little life revolves around tricking women he does or doesn't like into doing sexual things while he may or may not be taping it. But the emails, now that might be interesting. I can't wait to find out what lurks behind the scenes of Project FakeAllTheTapes. Or maybe I can. Yeah, I think I can.
Sorry, O'Keefe, but it's just one of your fellow journalists practicing "journalism." Right? A good ol' fashioned sting?
