We are devolving into a post-law semi-feudal system of rank and relation. The reign of Bush II made trying to hide this tendency passe'. When BP flat out refused to obey a White House injunction against using corexit (a dispersant) nothing happened. Corporations ignore judgements and injuctions, then get off with such a small fine it is cheaper to violate. Only if one party has a financial hold over someone can they compel the following of rules. It is threat of financial violence that governs us. The rules are also different for different classes and different individuals. If anyone besides Rush Limbaugh had been arrested with as many non-prescribed pills as Rush, is there any doubt he would strill be in prison? Who you are, determines how one is treated. Since reversing this course may not be possible, what we need to do is expand the feudalism so that over-mighty subjects have to field their own armies, not using a taxpayer funded army for its corporate purposes. Right now, the corporate privatizes profit while risk is publically born. I would rather go to a feudal system where the corporations must provide infrastructure ands protection without Government assistance.
