When the Government could have forced me into slavery via the draft, and I could have gotten shot and killed, and it's constitutional, it's hard for me to shed a tear over you being forced to buy health insurance... or else nothing bad even happens to you.
When the Government can totally pervert the plain meaning of the words "Congress shall pass no law..." to mean that Congress can pass all sorts of stupid shit laws, telling people they can only peacefully assemble if they don't piss off the Mayor, and not have signs bigger than two feet wide, and not be able to carry them using sticks, and not carry umbrellas, and not sit down, and only do it between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM on Tuesday in a free speech zone pen, and its constitutional, I have a hard time listening to anyone bleat about their Constitutional right to make other people pay for them not having health insurance.
Oops! That Didn'T Work Out Very Well

Nope. That Neither.

When the Government can tell a State they cannot legalize marijuana grown and sold entirely within that state, because it is Interstate Commerce, and so Interstate Commerce means whatever the fuck the Government wants it to mean, and it's constitutional, it's hard for me to have any sympathy for those who say that making someone buy health insurance... or else nothing happens, is going too far in regulating Interstate Commerce.
When the Government infiltrates organizations I belong to, and reads my email without a warrant, and can arrest me for no reason and keep me detained for days, and it passes a law saying I can be declared a terrorist and assassinated without legal process, and it's constitutional, the horrible persecution you feel when forced to buy health insurance... or nothing happens to you, is a bit underwhelming.
NOW THAT'S MORE LIKE IT!
When the Government tells me that marriage is a fundamental right, but then doesn't let my friends marry the person of their choosing, and it's still constitutional, you've got a lot of work convincing me your right to be an asshole by letting society make you whole again if you have a horrible accident, without taking your share of the responsibility, is anything but laughable.
The Government has managed to find ways to legally violate your fundamental rights, your civil rights, your States' rights, your First Amendment rights, your 2nd Amendment rights, your Nth amendment rights, your voting rights, your right to due process, your right to travel, your right to encrypt your own files. your right to shout 'fuck' on a crowded airwave, and even your right to carry toothpaste onto an airplane, all the while endowing corporations with inalienable rights.
So when you question its right to make you buy coverage while you pooh-pah the Government's fundamental right to deny you and me every other right, then I say
Take your fucking mandate, and your involuntary servitude, and your time, place and manner restrictions, and your "Interstate (sic) Commerce" concerns, and your Patriot Act, and DOMA, and the NDAA, and shove it all up your you know what.
Thanks for listening.
