'This is SO NOT how you make chili'... Barack Obama joins Pinterest and causes a stir with family recipe
Barack Obama may be wrangling with health reform, job creation and an up-coming election but the most pivotal political issue of the day is the ingredients in his favourite chili recipe.
However it's the Obamas' cooking habits that are proving most controversial.
The chili recipe contains all the usual ingredients: onions, garlic, ground beef, tomatoes and red kidney beans, but it's the addition of red wine vinegar that is creating a stir.
Sorry..."usual ingredients"? No, no, no...
Called out by the UK? Gimme a break, yet...

Bona fides...I have been to Terlingua, Texas multiple times. At the Int'l Chili Cookoff and "Behind the Store" at the original site of all that is Chili.

Obama Family Chili Recipe
Sorry, no mysterious ground beef/turkey, no red wine vinegar, no f'g basil, and no way are there any f'g beans! Chicago? What no pasta? sheesh...
Real Chili? How about Wick Fowler? The cook who started it all...
Wick Fowler -- Winner!
2 Alarm Chili
Ingredients:
2 pounds meat coarsely ground or diced
8 ounce can tomato sauce
2 cups water
1 package of 2 Alarm Chili Ingredients*
Salt
Instructions:
Sear the meat until it becomes gray. Add tomato sauce and water. Add all the ingredients except the masa flour. Cover kettle and simmer 1 hour and 15 minutes, until meat is tender. Stir occasionally. Skim off excess grease. Mix masa flour with warm water into a smooth paste. Stir into chili to tighten it and add flavor. Simmer 15 to 20 minutes and salt to taste. Chili is ready to serve.
The beef? That's chuck folks, cleaned and diced and then left to simmer in the broth prior to adding the spices. Don't be fooled into buying that 2-Alarm chili crap mix that the estate pushes..this is what you need...
1 tbspn oregano
2 tblspn cumin
1 tblspn garlic
1 tbspnsalt
1 tbspn chili spice (preferably 6 reconstituted dried pablano chilies diced)
1 tbspn hot sauce
If you really want to go nuts, add 2 cups merlot wine (learned that Back of the Store...) vinegar? Are you nuts?
Barack, back away from the Chili. You can, of course, enlighten me as to why deep dish pizza is better than thin crust?
My, where has our political discourse gone to? Next Mitt will share white toast and butter substitute?
Hands off the Chili dudes, stick to what you know?
Sheesh
