Kathy Stemke, the teacher and children's writer whose book Trouble on Earth Day I illustrated, has been holding a "Virtual Book Tour" this past week to celebrate Earth Day and promote her book. As part of the "Tour", she's been linking to reviews of the book and material related to it.
Trouble on Earth Day is a sweet little story about a young squirrel who learns about recycling in school and comes home excited about it. But when she encounters an unhappy bluebird who has lost his home, she winds up putting the principles of "Re-think, Re-use and Recycle" to practical use. The book comes with a teacher's guide and classroom activities related to Earth Day and recycling.
Kathy did an interview with me a while back about illustrating her book and about the glamorous life of a scruffy cartoonist, which I've put up on my own website, Kurtoons Online, as part of her Squirrel-a-palooza. Stop by and take a look, and feel free to visit the other stops on her Virtual Book Tour.
