One of my earliest memories is of my mother taking me to get my picture taken with the Easter Bunny. I don't remember much except for freaking right the hell out when she sat me on his lap. I remember screaming my little lungs out until my mother rescued me and fled the scene in humiliation. I've not been right since. Easter has never been one of my favorite holidays. I don't like pastels, I'm not particularly fond of cheap chocolate and to this day I harbor an unhealthy suspicion of people in rabbit costumes. As evidenced by the following visual testimony, I'm not the only one.
Caution, gratuitously violent content designed to illustrate my point.
So my fellow Kossacks, I shall forever remain anti-Easter Bunny, caught in a nightmare of my mother's making. It gives me a great sad but sometimes you just have to accept the hand that life dealt you and hide under the covers until the bunny has passed.

In this must read diary by Denise Oliver Velez in which DEO announces that "Kossacks must be black", and the Community responds "So say we all!", this comment (found near the end of the 318 comments around noonish-time) by texaslucy is a standout! Go.read.spread the word...
Much to my delight Angie adds:
Thanks for your lively and interesting TC diaries this spring, TC team!
From bronte17:
Horace Boothroyd III brings attention to a very important point which is the abuse of citizens by police and the claim that citizens can file their medical bills with the police for reimbursement for the injuries from that police abuse, except it really doesn't work that way:
What they don't tell you is that you'll get your bills back with a big REJECTED stamp. Plus the fact that you submitted them will be reported to the same police who sprayed you in the first place -- to be used to charge you as was done by UC Berkeley when students sought medical treatment after being brutalized by police.
From the diary post A Police Officer was Forced to Release Pepper Spray at a 4-Year-Old by jpmassar.
Make sure to also catch the responses to Horace. It's a good thread.

Found in JanF's edition of J Town: Got Post? April 7, 2012, in which dragon5616 researches the evolution and etymology of the term Sneck from the Dead Sea Scrolls to Shakespeare's pulling information from "My Asse." Truly a work of either inspired scholarship or mental imbalance...you make the call!
...and finally, from your diarist Steveningen:
In Laura Clawson's diary Bully gets PG-13 rating after minor edits, bkamr made this excellent comment about how censoring the f-word from the film made for a lost teaching moment.
