Almost 8 years ago, Democratic nominee John Kerry took a daring step. Rather than give the keynote slot at his nominating convention to an experienced party lion, he went with someone who was making his first run for statewide office.
Barack Obama's road to the White House began that night. Anyone who saw it, in person or on TV, saw the future.
They saw it because the State Senator from Chicago summarized, and personalized, the heart of the case against the GOP.
Now President Obama has the same opportunity to turn the debate with a bold keynote choice.
And the "game-changing" choice for that keynote is obvious.
Elizabeth Warren.
She has served the Administration, she has done more than anyone to speak out and fight the war of our time -- the war for economic fairness and transparency -- and no one has taken more flak for it.
She is in a tough fight with "pretty boy" Scott Brown, who talks bipartisanship while voting the Jim DeMint line. Give her a half hour to make her case, make it the party's case, and she'll win the argument.
For today. And for tomorrow.
I think that if the DailyKos community launched a campaign, right now, to make that happen, that it would happen. We're not what we were 8 years ago. Now, we're powerful.
Let's use that power to change history for the better.
