I'll admit that I screwed up 24 hours ago.
I attempted to circulate a We the People petition that, had it received 25,000 signatures, would force President Obama to explain his ties to Illinois State Senator Kirk Dillard, who also happens to be the Illinois chairman of the American Legislative Exchange Council, or ALEC for short.
I managed to unite everyone else on DailyKos against me. As a result, I am no longer actively seeking signatures for my petition.
The only ties Obama has to Dillard date back to Obama's tenure in the Illinois Senate. Obama and Dillard worked with each other on key legislation. As a result, Dillard made an appearance in a 2007 Obama ad.
Let it be known that I am NOT a Republican, except for when I voted in the Illinois Republican primary last month because there were no competitive Democratic primary races in my precinct. I will vote for President Obama and Vice-President Biden in the general election on November 6, and I would encourage everyone else here on DailyKos to do so as well. I have always identified myself as a Democrat, and I have always believed that the Republican Party is full of cowards, backstabbers, thieves, hypocrites, wingnuts, and shills.
Contrary to what some believe, I am NOT, and I repeat, NOT leaving DailyKos. The 2012 Presidential Election is too important for me to abandon ship. Exposing and dismantling unelected corporate government is too important for me to give up. We have to be in this fight together! There are a few issues where I don't agree with most Kossacks, but, where we do agree, we have to work as a team. One of my personal heroes is former University of Michigan head football coach Bo Schembechler. Schembechler was known for his famous locker room speech when he exhorted his players to play as a team. THE TEAM, THE TEAM, THE TEAM!!! Us Kossacks have to work as a team if we're going to get Obama re-elected!
Again, back to the point about my failed attempt to tie Obama to ALEC...the Republicans will pull every possible stunt to make Obama look bad. Don't be surprised if they try to link Obama to a conservative group like ALEC in order to make it look like Obama brought on the anti-collective bargaining bill in Wisconsin or the stand your ground law in Florida, which is blatantly false. They don't have a likeable candidate to go up against Obama, so Karl Rove and his Crossroads GPS SuperPAC has a $200 million war chest waiting to be unleashed in the form of anti-Obama propaganda as soon as the Republican nominee, likely to be Mitt Romney, has 1,144 delegates.
I apologize if I offended anyone on this site for any reason. However, I will not apologize for my beliefs, nor will I apologize for my loyalty to the Democratic Party! United We Stand, Divided We Fall, and we have to stand united as a team if we're going to accomplish common goals! We're in this together, my friends!
