Here is the latest episode in our video series, to occupy some of the vacuum of climate coverage in today's media. Targeted towards a general audience, in ongoing, short segments, we're hoping to do some education, some comedy, and empower people to fight for change. The series is called Don't Just Sit There - DO SOMETHING!
Every single episode not only covers an important topic in climate news and climate science, but gives the viewer a concrete way to make a difference, both personally and politically. So give it a view!
To recap, the actions this episode are to stop idling your car (bonus for following the speed limit) and submit a comment to the NHTSA about the new fuel efficiency standards.
About my background - I do actually have a Ph.D., in genetics, and have worked in the field of science outreach since 2006. I'm also a presenter trained by The Climate Reality Project, and have been giving presentations on climate through that organization since 2007 - these videos, though, are an unaffiliated side project.
Every statement in these videos is based on available research, and sources are provided.
Finally, an engaging way for regular people (no matter your political affiliation) to cut through the media blackout, and actually DO SOMETHING about climate change.
Stay tuned for the next episode, and please feel free to share widely.
