So I went ahead and got over to my parents house and looked at about a hundred dandelions and grabbed one, it looked pretty nice, and here is where it becomes obvious that I'm a little particular, I didn't want to go too close to the house, a few years ago we pumped hundreds of gallons of poison into the ground to kill termites, I didn't want to go too close to the neighbors, who knows when they sprayed last, so I found one, it looked nice, three hours later it looked like nothing, then when I cooked it, it looked like even less. It looked so crazy small I took a picture. I also bought a big bunch of dandelion greens from local health food store, and got someone else to buy some too. The whole bunch tasted pretty bitter, I boiled them and poured the water off and put some ice in it, my wife had heard something about ice and dandelions. They were bitter, but bitter things are supposed to be good for you. The ayurvedic medicine people categorize all medicines into flavors, and Americans don't get much bitter from what they say. Coffee and beer are a little bitter, and that's about it. It helps move the bile out of the liver they say. and helps balance the other flavors, and hence body.. Who knows. Wife said dandelions taste like hairspray. I think maybe a little like kale, kale is a little bitter too. Not the first person to write about lawn care and how it relates to politics. I can get reference if someone is beating down my door for it.
Bought a kind bar, just nuts honey and good stuff, after dinner found it all eaten and
the plastic nibbled right through. Bad news, mice or rats. :(
Wife says hopefully only one, we both know it's like spring break with free beer on a beach in that cabinet. Piles o mouse do in back, oh boy there goes that safe clean feeling in our house. This is a real bummer. Will probably throw away a lot of stuff,
kill some small critters.. probably will use fast spring traps, those glue traps freak me out with that rat suffering and not able to escape. No mercy for mice.
