Scott Brown, who recently ran an ad praising the Boston Red Sox and Fenway Park, has now shown his real allegiance, which is to Big Money.
Randy Levine, president of the New York Yankees, donated the maximum $2,500 to the Massachusetts Republican’s re-election campaign last month, according to newly released campaign finance records.
That’s right, the commander of the Evil Empire is helping to pay for all those Brown ads championing his support of the Red Sox.

Levine is the embodiment of everything we hate about the Yankees. He’s described as arrogant and brash, and is the chief henchman of the Steinbrenner family, according to reports. Oh yeah, one of his chief goals every year is to destroy the Red Sox.

As a St. Louis Cardinals fan (reigning World Champions, in case anyone forgot), I don't have a dog in this fight, although the Cards did help make history by beating the Red Sox in 46 and 67, only to lose in four straight in 2004, giving the Red Sox their first World Series victory in a long time. And the Cards do have a winning record in the Series against the NY Yankees, beginning when they beat Babe Ruth and the Yankees in 1926 (Cards also won in 64 and maybe in the 30s.). But I digress.
Damn, man, stand by your team. Scott Brown is a baseball turncoat. You don't see Missouri senators taking Chicago Cub money. I ate at a great barbeque place this weekend that had a sign that said: "Cubs fans pay double." And St. Louis is nice, midwestern nice. Red Sox and Yankeees fans just don't like each other, going back to the Babe Ruth trade.
Knowing all this, Scott Brown still takes money from the leader of the evil empire. If I were a Red Sox fan, I'd be pissed. Politics is politics, but baseball loyalties are forever. :-) Except for Scott Brown. Sort of shows you what he is made of, doesn't it?
Scott Brown takes money from the NY Yankeees. Pass it on to folks in Massachusetts.
This is the second baseball screwup by Brown recently. As noted earlier, last week he ran an ad praising the Boston Red Sox and Fenway Park, but news orgs quickly jumped on the fact that 10 years ago HE TRIED TO GET THE RED SOX TO MOVE OUT OF FENWAY AND BOSTON!
Last week, the GOP incumbent began airing a radio ad heaping praise on Fenway Park [map] and the team owners, finishing with “Go Red Sox!” A few days ago, the campaign aired a web video featuring Brown standing outside Fenway Park in a Red Sox jacket, greeting fans. Now, it turns out, the president of the Yankees helped pay for those ads.
If you’re scoring at home, that’s E-Incumbent.
Brown also committed an error last week after it was revealed that as a state senator in 2001, he tried to arrange a meeting with the Red Sox and Patriots [team stats] owner Robert Kraft to move the Sox out of Fenway to Foxboro

That's two unforced errors in two weeks by Scott Brown, the phony Red Sox fan.

Elizabeth Warren on The Myth of Class Warfare: Nobody Got Rich on His Own
I hear all this, you know, ‘Well, this is class warfare, this is whatever.’ No. There is nobody in this country who got rich on his own—nobody.
You built a factory out there? Good for you. But I want to be clear. You moved your goods to market on the roads the rest of us paid for. You hired workers the rest of us paid to educate. You were safe in your factory because of police forces and fire forces [sic] that the rest of us paid for. You didn’t have to worry that marauding bands would come and seize everything at your factory—and hire someone to protect against this—because of the work the rest of us did.
Now look, you built a factory and it turned into something terrific, or a great idea. God bless—keep a big hunk of it. But part of the underlying social contract is, you take a hunk of that and pay forward for the next kid who comes along.
If you can afford a small donation, $10, $25, whatever you can will help, go here, because the contributions add up.
