Mitt Romney came to the Pittsburgh suburb of Bethel Park yesterday to visit with the common people. I am sure you have seen the reports that showed him sitting at the picnic table with folks saying they wouldn't mind paying more in taxes if it will stop cuts in education, etc. Not exactly what he wanted to hear on Tax Day.
It took a more hilarious turn today. This is just too funny!
We now have what is known as "Cookie-Gate" here in Pittsburgh. The 6:00 news just had a story on about it and were even getting 'man-on-the street" reaction. (I will try to post the link but I stink at that stuff).
Apparently, there were a tray of cookies sitting on the table. Mitt picks one up with this look of disdain on his face. He says "you didn't bake these, did you" and the nice woman says "no, but." and Mitt continues speaking. He goes on to say that he bets she stopped at the 7-11 to pick them up. The weird thing was the way he was saying it. Was he getting on the woman that she didn't bake cookies? Did he think he was being humorous
Well, as it turns out, those cookies came from one of the most popular bakeries in Pittsburgh, Bethel Bakery. (I know--I got my wedding cake from there as do most brides here). They interviewed the owner and you can tell he was ticked. He goes "what does 7-11 have to do with cookies? he seems to be confused".
I tried to link but it didn't work. http://www.wtae.com/...
I guess Mittens is used to petit fours and all those "fancy" desserts. I wonder what Hannity would say?
