The Daily Bucket is a place where we post and exchange our observations about what is happening in the natural world in our neighborhood. Each note about the bugs, buds, and birds around us is a record that we can refer to in the future as we try to understand the patterns of nature that are quietly unwinding around us.
This birdie is singing the praises of a new day. It isn't my photograph. I hope your day is off to a good start. This will be a brief diary for the Daily Bucket. Too many things are going on in our household. It is hard to keep up. Last week and this, some home improvements are being done. We are getting our bedroom back. Today, the kitchen and bathroom counters will be removed, replaced tomorrow. Nothing is in the right place. It takes extra thought to remember where you put it.
In the meantime .....................
After work yesterday, I went out back to pull the remaining garlic mustard. We've been working at this for several years each spring. I was pleased to see fewer of the plants this year. The ones I did see were pretty hardy looking. Recent rain loosened the dirt so they came out roots and all.
While I worked, I heard a Tufted Titmouse. I called back to it and got it a bit worked up. I also heard the first House Wren of the season. I'd better clean out their house of last year's sticks. It is good to have them back.
What is going on with you? Give us a farmer nod, a finger wave, a tip of the hat. Tell us where you are located. Anything to offer to the bucket is appreciated. And, have a good day.
