While some are more then willing to ignore or blow off the comments of "Terrible" Ted Nugent to the NRA as simply being the ramblings of an aging irrelevant rock star, there are very good reasons to consider the probability that more than a few of his fellow NRA travellers really are taking him seriously and literally.
Nugent called President Obama a criminal and denounced his “vile, evil America-hating administration” which is “wiping its ass with the Constitution.” Taking it a step further, he said that “If Barack Obama becomes the president in November, again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year.” “If you can’t galvanize and promote and recruit people to vote for Mitt Romney, we’re done,” he continued. "We are Braveheart, we need to chop their heads off in November!"
Was he just talking about voting? Sure, just like Sarah Palin was only talking about Voting when she said "Don't Retreat, Reload". And how do we know it's not just a metaphor? How do we know that chances are, someone, somewhere
will act on this?
Because it's happened before. And not just once. Or Twice. It's been dozens of times.
Who is this?
This is James Adkisson who walked into a Knoxville Unitarian Church one day and shot 5 people killing two of them. Why'd he do it?
Because he Hated Liberals after fox news and Bernard Goldberg told him how bad their were.
"This was a symbolic killing. Who I wanted to kill was every Democrat in the Senate & House, the 100 people in Bernard Goldberg's book. I'd like to kill everyone in the mainstream media. But I know those people were inaccessible to me. I couldn't get to the generals & high ranking officers of the Marxist movement so I went after the foot soldiers, the chickenshit liberals that vote in these traitorous people. Someone had to get the ball rolling. I volunteered. I hope others do the same. It's the only way we can rid America of this cancerous pestilence."
"I thought I'd do something good for this Country Kill Democrats til the cops kill me....Liberals are a pest like termites. Millions of them Each little bite contributes to the downfall of this great nation. The only way we can rid ourselves of this evil is to kill them in the streets. Kill them where they gather. I'd like to encourage other like minded people to do what I've done. If life aint worth living anymore don't just kill yourself. do something for your Country before you go. Go Kill Liberals.
One lone nut? Just an aberration?
Then whose this?
James Von Brunn, a man who walked into the Holocaust Museum in D.C. and killed a security guard at the beginning of an intended killing spree whose primary target was David Axelrod.
And whose this?
David Poplowski, who was either a) upset over his girlfriend or b) horrifically afraid that Obama would take his guns away (Just like Uncle Teddy Says..). Either way, he shot and killed three Pittsburgh Police officers before finally being taken down himself.
And then there's this guy, Byron Williams.
Williams was arrested after a shootout with the California Highway Patrol, where several officers were wounded. He was armed to the teeth and wearing body armor reportedly on his way to stage a murderous attack on the ACLU and Tides Foundation because - Glenn Beck on Fox News told him how terrible they were
In audio interviews obtained by MediaMatters, accused shooter Byron Williams says Fox News host Glenn Beck "blew my mind" with "the things he exposed."
Williams is charged with allegedly opening fire on police on Interstate 580 in Oakland, California, while on his way to "start a revolution" by attacking members of the ACLU and the Tides Foundation. As we've reported, the Tides Foundation is a favorite punching bag of Glenn Beck's, and he counts the group among his cabal of liberals aiming to bring socialism to America.
Williams: And it was the things that he did, it was the things he exposed that blew my mind. Beck would never say anything about a conspiracy, would never advocate violence, he'll never do anything like, of this nature, but he'll give you every ounce of evidence that you could possibly need. Beck is going to deny everything about a violent approach. He's going to deny conspiracies, but he'll give you everything you need to believe them. He's protecting himself, and you can't blame him for that.
Implausible deniability, that old chestnut. This type of thing isn't just limited to the U.S., it's gone International with people like this Anders Breivik.
Breivik is currently on trial for killing 77 people in a bombing and shooting massacre that was specifically designed to destroy the next generation of progressives and liberals in his native Norway for being too "friendly" with Muslims.
Eight people were killed in Breivik's bombing of Oslo's government district and 69 were slain in his shooting massacre at the left-leaning Labor Party's youth camp on Utoya island outside the capital. Breivik has said the attacks were necessary to protect Norway from being taken over by Muslims.
"I admit to the acts, but not criminal guilt," he told the court, insisting he had acted in self-defense.
He too, like Williams, Addkisson, von Brunn and Gregory Guisti who was arrested for issuing death threats against Nancy Pelosi - claims that his inspiration for his acts was the violent rhetoric of the American Right-Wing.
Anders Breivik’s manifesto contains numerous in-text and footnoted citations to prominent Islamophobic bloggers, supposed experts on Islamic terrorism and think tanks claiming to be on the frontlines of battling Islam’s attacks on democracies.
Individuals cited in Breivik’s manifesto include: Center for Security Policy‘s President Frank Gaffney; “counterjihad” bloggers Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer; Investigative Project on Terrorism’s Director Steven Emerson; Middle East Forum President Daniel Pipes; and controversial historian Bat Ye’or.
– Breivik cites neoconservative Islamophobe Frank Gaffney on opposition to Turkey joining the EU, and reprints a post from Gaffney’s think tank, the Center for Security Policy: Gaffney, a former Reagan official, is a regular on Fox News, a writer for the Washington Times op-ed page, a sought-after speaker at major conservative conferences, and a ubiquitous talking head on talk radio. His think tank created a website to orchestrate protests against the the so-called “Ground Zero Mosque” in Manhattan. When he is not arguing that President Obama is a secret agent of the Muslim Brotherhood or claiming that radical Muslims have infiltrated the top levels of American government, he is calling for people who practice Islam to be prosecuted under sedition laws.
Think guys are all the exception and not the rule? What about all these events from over the last couple of years ...

There's nothing close to an
equivalency of violence coming from the Left. There just isn't. Don't even
start with the Occupy Movement, they've been on the receiving end of an never ending game of
punch, push, pepper-spray, club, kettle and shoot the hippie by local Police for months now. They're the targets, not the instigators.
It's not an accident that people on Fox News think it's an appropriate "Joke" to talk about chopping Dana Milbanks head off, or going down to the Editorial Board of the New York times armed with a Baseball Bat because you don't like something they wrote, or fantasizing about strangling Michael Moore and poisoning Nancy Pelosi.
It's not a coincidence that Mitt Romney specifically sought out the endorsement of "Terrible" Ted and now absolutely refuses to even consider disavowing him even though he's proceeded to double and even triple down on his initial comments while claiming that a) He's the Victim here and b) He'd never hurt anyone.
“See, I’m a black Jew at a Nazi-Klan rally, and there are some power-abusing corrupt monsters in our federal government that despise me because I have the audacity to speak the truth to identify the violations of our government, particularly Eric Holder and the president and Tim Geithner, ad nauseum,” Nugent told Loesch.
“I have never in my life threatened anyone’s life. I’m incapable of threatening anyone’s life. Because I’m about positive change, my entire speech, all my articles,” he later added.
Varmints are sometimes clever, but they are really easy to outmaneuver,” he said. “If you just listen to Wasserman Schultz, just watch the lady talk, listen to her words, examine her voting record. Listen to Nancy Pelosi, ,b>this sub-human scoundrel… these government monsters are so out of control. I’m using my First Amendment.
“The job of we the people is to spotlight cockroaches, and come November we’re going to stomp them at the voting booth,” he said.
No Ted, that's not "Free Speech" you're using Hate Speech. Calling someone a "sub-human scoundrel, varmint, monster" is not a policy position. If he were to call black people "sub human", or jewish people "scoundrels" or gay people "monsters" - we'd all know exactly what he was truly saying wouldn't we? But since he's just talking about
Liberals it's ok, nobody would take this figure of speech literally and perpetrate
Hate Crimes Against Liberals, Right?
Like Hell they don't. And if most of the Black People, most of the Gay people, a whole lot of women and jews and catholics just also happen to be Liberal, well, that's just a "Happy Coincidence" isn't it?
Nobody thinks draft dodging Ted is a threat to anyone life, unless they happen to have antlers. But Ted isn't the one we need to be worried about, it's all the head nodding know-nothing gun-toting Liberal Haters that he was talking to.
Mitt can't say this stuff - not directly - but he can let a Rabid Nuge off his leash to froth and bite all those damn dirty hippy libs walking past his gate. Then when Ted spreads his disease to all the other dogs who don't even have a yard, or a fence to keep them from running wild, it's not Mitt's fault.
If a few of Lib-Hippies get hurt or killed, again, well gee - at least they won't be voting this November and besides there's no accounting the random acts of a lone nut bag is there?
Or three.
Or a dozen.
Or so.
It's not a matter of "If" or "When" it's a matter of "How Many Bodies" we'll have when it happens.
As Bart Simpson says: Mitt and Ted didn't do it, nobody saw them do it, nobody can prove anything.
Right?
