After resisting since the beginning, I finally, reluctantly, joined Twitter. It was originally intended as a faster and more direct way to contact politicians, to let them know that we at FLAW opposed or supported their positions on bills. But it turned out to be a great way to interact with others, as well. Today I had fun with a Canadian Pro-Personhood guy, possibly a priest, below the fold.

I saw this on a friend's Twitter feed, and had to jump in:

From the Old Guy (I doubt he'd give me permission to use his Twitter handle):

@Fortitude_1 (FLAW member) If unwilling to get pregnant then don't have sex. Pregnancies come from sex. I thought everyone today knew that.

Me to @Old Guy But sex is the most fun we can have with our clothes off. God built our bodies for sex. Procreation is a side effect.

Old Guy: Great, have sex if you want to just be responsible for likely consequences. No right to kill another. #cdnpoli #m312

Me: Oh, I am. But isn't it better for little souls to go to Heaven than be abused on Earth by parents who didn't want them?

Old Guy: So you endorse infanticide? Eugenics? #cdnpoli #m312 #abortion

Me:No. That's my POINT. All children should be WANTED and LOVED. Like MINE. It shld be solely the parents' decision. Not yours

Old Guy: So as soon as a parent doesn't want their child anymore they are free to murder him/her?

Me: Hee, hee, you're funny. No. They shouldn't be forced-by law-to have them in the first place. Duh.

Old Guy: By your logic if parents want a child, bring her into the world, but then change their minds it's ok to kill her. #cdnpoli

Me: No--are you crazy? Twisted? Matricide or patricide of a living-i.e., BREATHING-child is illegal. Zygotes are not breathing.

‏ @Fortitude_1  to me:

* so Old Guy agreed to have Personhood Funerals for embryo people shed in menses, and now won't talk to me. Thinks IUD Abort. #M312

Me to @Fortitude_1 He's busy trying to argue with me :-) Not succeeding. I have a Jesuit education.

"If God did not grace thee with a uterus, and thou art celibate to boot, do not speak to me of forced birth." Fallopians 5:12 (TM)

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
