I was browsing my Facebook page, when a post from Winning Progressives caught my eye.
Here is the complete list of ALEC's corporate membership. If you do business with any of these companies, please respectfully urge them to withdraw their support of ALEC.
As I clicked through to the Common Cause link, I saw that Amazon was on the list. I have bought many, many, things from Amazon. I was more than a little surprised that this company would be supporting ALEC. So I was off to Amazon to have a little "chat" with them about their support of this right-wing group.
Winning Progressives thanked me for my post. You are welcome. But what if everyone here at DK were to do the same? We might get more companies dropping support of ALEC.

Transcript of my chat with "Greg" from Amazon - about Amazon's support of ALEC...
You are now connected to Greg from Amazon.com.
Me:Your support of ALEC
Greg: Hello, James, my name is Greg. I'll be happy to assist you.
Me: Why does Amazon Support ALEC?
Do you know what ALEC is Greg?
Greg: Yes. ALEC is American Legislative Exchange Commission.
Me: And why would Amazon support a company that is responsible for "Stand Your Ground" laws around the country?
Greg: I'm so sorry, unfortunately, I'm unable to determine that.
Me: Please note that I am able to determine that I will no longer buy anything from Amazon until your company withdraws support from ALEC. I will also urge everyone I know to do the same. Jeff Bezos should be ashamed.
Greg: We appreciate your feedback and I've have forwarded it to the correct team internally.
Me: You may want to look for an ethical employer. Money isn't everything. Goodnight Greg.
Greg: I understand your concern. I'll be sure to forward this to the appropriate people.
Have a delightful night, James!
Is there anything else I can do for you?
Me: No - I hope the correct team makes the correct decision. Posting this to Facebook now.
Then I get a follow-up e-mail from Amazon via my delightful chat buddy - Greg.
