The Beat is ON at Indianapolis' south side! Here's a preview of tomorrow's class. :D
Let's look back on May 7ths of the past. On May 7, 1919, Eva Peron, who was a powerful political influence as the wife of the president of Argentina, was born. She could carry a tune, too! ;D
Gary Cooper was born on this date in 1901; he was a heck of a Lou Gehrig.
Yes, that's the real actual Babe Ruth back there. :D
It's time for SPARK in our lives! :) Am I beyond saving if I think beer tastes like horse pee smells? Someone's gonna get tarred & feathered for this brilliance! Finally, I'd like a gross of these sent to my office post haste. :D
On with The Rachel Maddow Show!
Thanks to LambChop for filling in for Rachel tonight! :D
"The Evolution Will be Televised" - VP Biden said on MTP yesterday that he's all over teh gayz being able to get married; however, President Obama isn't 100% in favor of gay marriage. 52% of the American people are ready for loving homosexual couples to get married - actually married. I wonder why President Obama struggles with this issue so much? SOE Arne Duncan today voiced his support for gay marriage. Sam Stein visited Mourning Joe this morning? EEK! Some really REALLY want support of gay marriage part of the Dem platform that's adopted at the convention. 11 state Dem chairs - including Texas - are all over making that addition. This issue could actually be a wee dram of an actual platform fight that could be embarrassing to President Obama. Evan Wolfson is in studio to talk marriage equality news from this past weekend. He used to intern for VP Biden when he was Senator Biden! :) Mr. Wolfson things VP Biden was speaking from the heart on this no - brainer of an issue. Mr. Wolfson's correct about the seeming - timidity around President Obama on the issue of marriage equality; he has nothing to lose & everything to gain. Those who are against this issue won't vote for him anyway.
"Cheap Trick" - The little French dude married to the model got his a$$ handed to him by French voters. I was under the assumption there'd be no Cheese Eatin' Surrender Monkey language. ;D French voters poo - pooed severe austerity; Greek voters did, too! Dutch & Spanish citizens aren't wild about austerity, and Prime Minister David Cameron's party across the pond got their clocks cleaned in local elections. The UK is back in a recession again. OOPS! Much of Europe is in the midst of a double - dip recession; we, however, have managed to avoid that. AND, if government workers hadn't been laid off, the unemployment rate would be around 7.2%. So, Rep. Paul "Kill Medicare" Ryan wants to go all austerity on our behinds!
"Less Money, Mo Problems" - There's Diaper Boy! Is he pulling the single - Senator obstruction $hit again? There are still 2 unfilled positions on the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, and Diaper Boy is the one holding up the works. He could give jack & $hit about their qualifications, but they just might lean "Dem," so we can't have that! One of the nominees on ice is a GOBP!! Government spending props up the economy while the private sector is still recovering. Borrowing money at a lower interest rate will also boost the economy. Betsy Stevenson gets Diaper Boy obstruction duty. There are supposed to be 12 members; 7 are governors. The other 5 represent the Federal Reserve Bank areas. Local bank presidents are driving the economy. The Fed is supposed to care about unemployment but also not want high inflation. Some on the board are having trouble finding that balance.
"Count On It" - Mittens brought out a quote that was full of praise for Rep. Paul & his peeps but also wanted to remind them that HE will be the party's nominee this summer - NOT Rep. Paul. Those pesky state party conventions don't mean a thing. Or, do they?
"Bench Clearing" - We've got 3 new judges on the federal bench! How long did they wait in the wings? The Senate of late just has NOT wanted to confirm judicial nominees. Judicial vacancies are double from this point in GWB's first term. Current vacancies have risen 43%. Son of a *&^%$#@! There are now 34 "judicial emergencies", meaning there are not enough judges in a district to handle the case load. Nan Aron gets to ask "Here comes the judge?!" To the shock of absolutely no one, all these hold ups are due to politics; politics over the last 3.5 years has had an African - American man in the Oval Office. Again, boys & girls, at the most base level, it's all about race. 61 nominees never got a vote at the end of President Clinton's term in office. Why is the MENSA party more successful at this blocking $hit. They are mean, nasty, spiteful, and organized. 19 nominees are pending, and I'd be willing to bet dollars to doughnuts they won't see the light of day until after the election.
