You read it right. The woman who is terrified of scary gays having their relationships recognized and scary government mandated insurance and scary people speaking other languages and those godless European socialists is now a citizen of a country that officially recognizes domestic partnerships, has a government mandated and regulated health insurance system, has four official languages, and is in Europe (something I won't assume she knows so I can't hold it against her).
Here is the article from the Star Tribune.
Can you imagine what the Right would do to a prominent Democrat pursuing dual citizenship while engaged in a national campaign and running for Congress?
Hopefully the good people of the 6th district will throw her out--but I am not holding my breath. At least she has the security of knowing that she will have access to healthcare and her kids could get a subsidized education if she loses her job here.
And maybe she can keep an eye on Mitt RMoney's savings account as well.
Look, I have no problem with dual citizenship, but given the positions and rhetoric of Ms. Bachmann over the years the hypocrisy of it all is a bit much.
