"Elections have consequences."
How many times have we heard this?
In reality, all votes have consequences; and North Carolina's vote to enshrine discrimination in their state constitution will have severe and long lasting consequences on North Carolina families.
Such a decision should come with a cost to those who would deprive others of basic rights.
So how do you send a message to an entire state? The answer, not surprisingly, is to hit them in the pocketbook.
This is an "evolving" list of opportunities to send a message of condemnation to the state of North Carolina for its decision to be on the wrong side of history.
1) Move the Democratic National Convention to a state that respects the dignity and rights of all citizens.
The petition can be found here: https://www.change.org/...
2) Contact Apple and ask them to relocate the proposed billion dollar (approximately) green fuel cell facility planned for Maiden, NC

Apple has made a few mistakes with its ipad apps, but it has a history of supporting the rights of its employees and marriage equality:http://www.macobserver.com/...
3) Move the movies. Hollywood has been a supportive environment for LGBT communities. Encourage them to move their movie productions to more supportive venues.
What movies should be targeted? - Don't shoot Iron Man 3 in North Carolina. Given the success of the Avengers, it's going to be one of the biggest movies on the horizon. Iron Man 3 is considered the largest feature film to be made in North Carolina to date. Likewise, Hunger Games: Catching Fire can be moved and even Nicholas Sparks film "Safe Haven" from its planned Southport filming location (even though Southport is the setting in the book).
4) Other suggestions?
