Sometimes things happen in your life that you cannot explain. I and Mrs. Millrat, and two of the 'Lil rats recently raced From Western NY to Florida to see my dying mother. We failed by 20 minutes, so we spent a week traveling through the state and fell in love with it. I am a mostly pragmatic man, rarely impulsive, or even optimistic that "things will work out". I fix things, and they always break again, it's a truism in my life.
More below the fold.
On our return trip, we visited every place of significance in our lives on the East coast. When we found the Lion's Gate bridge in Newport News, VA, Where my wife of 30 years informed me that I wanted to marry her, She had a revelation.
She informed me that I wanted to move to Florida, and bring the family, of course. After so many years with this woman, all I could say was "okay". I had no idea how to make it happen, but saw no reason to fight the notion.
For those of you still reading, DO NOT DO THIS. I went to work after I returned, and told my manager to start looking for my replacement. He told me he regretted my decision, but placed the ad's the next day. He also called recruiters to help me find a new job. (He is a hard man to work for, but he is ethical).
Today I was told that a manager in one of our plants in Florida, who moved from this area 1-1/2 years ago after my company bought his plant is looking to move back here. His wife is miserable in FL.
So, a guy in Florida, decides to leave, to come to my area at the same time I decide to leave this area, and move to Florida. We both have the same credentials in the same company. Both of us did this upon impulsive decisions, and no maintenance manager makes impulsive decisions. Yet we did it at exactly the same time.
Synchronicity. Now It's all details, and how to work them out.
Sometimes the universe speaks, and sometimes we listen. I only hope I heard correctly.

5:23 PM PT: We will either succeed or fail magnificently, but we will follow this path. We've known failure before. A few times, we have known success.
I hope to own this possible success.
