I have had a lot on my plate to deal with, that is why it seems like I have been quiet lately. I will explain what has been going on in my life, after I tell you what’s on my mind about AZ. I also need you to sign a petition to AZ SS Ken Bennett.
I was disgusted to read that Gov. Brewer is exploring the possibility of a third term. She has served less than two years of her current term and took over a half term for Janet Napolitano. Feels like a lifetime to me already. I can't stand the thought of six more years.
In an interview with The Arizona Republic, the governor said supporters are still encouraging her to research whether a third term would be viable. At least one political adviser close to Brewer acknowledged that numerous aides and other supporters are trying to rally her for a third term.
"I have been encouraged by people in the community -- people whom I respect, and others whom I don't even know -- wanting me to look into what really constitutes a term," Brewer said, adding that the last four years have been "rough" and tremendously difficult.
Yes, rough and tremendously difficult for the sane people in AZ. I can't imagine who would be encouraging her to do this except for maybe the prison and evangelical lobbies, since evangelical group
Center for AZ Policy and their l
obbyist Cathi Herrod got twelve bills signed by the Gov., including defunding of Planned Parenthood, and Gov. Brewer’s new budget includes
$50 million for another new prison.
Brewer has said there is "ambiguity" in the Constitution, saying she does not read it as barring her from serving 2 1/2 terms.
It is her lawyers who are finding ambiguity in the law. I think the AZ Constitution seems clear:
Arizona law permits statewide-elected officials to serve only two consecutive terms. Article 5, Section 1 of the Arizona Constitution states, "No member of the executive department after serving the maximum number of terms, which shall include any part of a term served, may serve in the same office until out of office for no less than one full term."
Joe Kanefield, former general counsel to Brewer who is now in private practice, said the legal question revolves around the definition of a term.
"When referring to a 'term' of office, drafters were referring to a governor who was elected to a term and not to a governor who inherited the office by succession," Kanefield said. He added that he believes the drafters were attempting to prevent political gamesmanship, such as resigning on the last day of two terms to run again.

No way, no how. Even if they get a judge to say she can, which I doubt, she will go down in a ball of flames.
I am also sick of this birther crap in AZ and need your help signing a petition.
Of course, I am disgusted with AZ Secretary of State Ken Bennett asking the state of HI for proof that Obama was born there. He is saying he will keep Obama off the ballot because he got 1200 emails from people who still don’t believe he was born in the US despite repeated debunking of this myth by many people and groups. As far as I know no other state is still pursuing this birther nonsense but AZ.
He heard back from HI.
The Hawaii attorney general’s office has reportedly told Bennett that there are steps he needs to take in order to confirm President Obama’s birth records. Those steps include Bennett proving that he legitimately needs confirmation in order to update the records at his office.
Bennett recently said in an interview with KFYI that he had asked Hawaii to further verify the President’s birth.
Bennett said he would consider removing President Obama’s name from the ballot during this year’s presidential election if Hawaii didn’t fulfill his request.

Maybe you should fill out the proper paperwork as per HI's instructions, Bennett. Gotta prove you have a legitimate reason for the request.
It also seems he has his phone off the hook, and there is this petition to him to tell him what you think. There are not even two hundred signatures so far and since 6,482,505 is the population of Arizona, 1200 emails from teabaggers represents about 0018 percent of the people, I'm sure we can get ten times 1200 that don't agree with the TB's. So please sign this petition and pass it along.
Feel free to express yourselves.
Okay this is why I have been seemingly absent. I have been reading your articles and recommending, but have been to tired to comment.
Since my mom got out of the hospital three weeks ago I have been spending a lot of time taking care of her, and my dad too, who she took care of.
Last Thursday my sister Cynthia, her daughter and I went to see the fake Beatles. They sounded just like them. It was like a three part play, early 60's, Sgt. Pepper’s LHCB, and then Abbey Road days with costume changes and jokes. We sang, we screamed, we danced, people bought us drinks and gave us money to gamble. We had a blast.
Then the next day my sister had a mild heart attack and has been in the hospital ever since. Maybe Jethro Tull was wrong and you can be "too old to rock and roll", though I've always thought it keeps you young. She gets to come home today after her angioplasty. So I have been doing her chores, the dogs, the laundry, shopping etc on top of my mom’s. Hopefully things will settle down soon and I can spend some more time with you all.
