Do the people of Wisconsin get to select their government, or do the Kochs et al get to select it for them? Would walker have a chance without Koch money? He doesn't seem to have much support here; he can't show his face in public without at least as many protesters as supporters showing up. His appearances are secret as is the location of his campaign headquarters. Their agenda must be planned and enacted in secret because it's unpopular. (The parallels with the cheney/bush regime are rampant)
Why are the kochs and other outside forces spending so much money to influence this election? Is it because they have the best interests of the people of Wisconsin in mind? It's to subvert the will and the interests of the people of Wisconsin more likely.
They apparently wish to buy the right to select our government for us, and scott walker is happy to sell it to them along with a corporate friendly agenda enacted on their behalf - with the understanding, of course, that they'll continue to pay to keep him and his goons in power. And I'm confident the ROI will justify it.
With a small amount of attention to their agenda, you can see who walker's base is: "pro lifers", middle class people who think they're well to do, the "religious right", wingnuts and tea people, and rich people.
I believe this isn't a case of everyone who doesn't live in Madison or Milwaukee supporting them as it may have been for repugs here in the past. By attacking public workers he mobilized people all over the state in resistance - very vocal and visible resistance.
And the only vocal and visible support for walker has been endless misleading rightwing ads - many of which are paid for by rich, out of state rightwing freaks. I reject their agenda and I resent their interference.
Here's hoping we have the good fortune and the good sense to vote walker and some of the other freaks out next week. Go Bucky!
