The Boston Herald is out with a story about Mittens own little adventure into green energy land. I feel this is a must-read and must be passed on to everyone you know.
The Boston Herald published the following article.
Lowell-based Konarka Technologies announced late yesterday that it filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection and will cease operations, lay off its 85 workers and liquidate. This was published today. The day after Mitt Romney stood in front of Solyndra decrying the President's judgement on green technologies.
The demise of Konarka could become a hot topic on the campaign trail because Romney personally doled out a $1.5 million renewable energy subsidy to the Lowell startup in 2003, shortly after taking office on Beacon Hill. This is the best part.
And on Thursday the GOP candidate was stumping outside the shuttered Solyndra solar-panel factory in California, blasting the Obama administration’s $535 million loan as a symbol of “crony capitalism.”
A Romney spokesman could not be immediately reached for comment.I am sure they will say, "Well, it was only $1.5 million." Yeah, I am sure that will go over well.
This is unfortunate, seriously, because these people at Konarka are trying to do the right thing, but you have to think, "What were the Romney folks thinking?" after reading this.
