After an action-filled week, we're now wrapping up the Hunters vs Walker campaign, so I wanted to update everyone with the near-final numbers.
Our intention had been to get on the radio this weekend, but we weren't able to get a professional-quality ad put together in time to meet the deadline and we didn't want to waste people's money on a crappy ad, so we ended up putting everything into Facebook ads. As of right now:
We've spent just under $2500 on Facebook ads. We have a few hundred dollars left, which we've been holding back for the final push. The rest went for graphics, paypal fees, and state filing fees.
We've used over five million ad impressions to reach 386,183 people in Wisconsin; 5,808 of them clicked through to our website. Many more people clicked through from people sharing the site through Facebook, Twitter, and other means. We've also gotten pushback from a number of republican sites, generally with the "Barrett wants to take away your hunting rifles" bit. The deer hunting controversy has definitely become part of the conversation at this point.
I plan to take down the donation site Monday morning and put any remaining cash into Facebook advertising on Monday.
