How - dee F.O.O. & FOKRs! Well, unless you've been under a rock & deprived of O2 the past year or so in these parts, we all know what's happening in the Land of Beer & Bratwurst tomorrow & how important it is.
Let's look back on June 4ths of the past. On this date in 1919, Congress approved the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution guaranteeing citizens the right to vote regardless of their gender and sent it to the states for ratification. I wonder how many regret that amendment?! *&^%$#@!
The only surviving member of the Mamas & the Papas is 68 today.
How much have y'all missed SPARK?! :D Whoever dreamed up this law smoked a bit much of teh reefer. Brits do the strangest things to celebrate some lady being in the same job for years on end! Finally, maybe the Kochtopus can give this consolation gift to Governor Scotty after Mr. A$$hat gets his a$$ kicked tomorrow! :D
On with The Rachel Maddow Show...
"On the Edge of Their Seats" - Gee, just guess which subject is leading tonight's show. I've never heard of this Rebecca chic; it's probably a good thing. Oh, she's WI's Lt. Governor, and her political career is probably on the chopping block tomorrow, too! So, she's the $aint $arah from Wasilla of WI? And, the Fitz of Fitzwalkerstan's on the chopping block, too?? Wow! You CheeseHeads are going to have quite a day tomorrow! He was actually kind of sort of honest on FAUX News about the REAL purpose of the union busting in WI. State Senator Dale Schultz sounds like an endangered species in today's GOBP. He voted against union busting! I'm getting quite the WI state politics civics lesson tonight. :D Dems need to only win 1 Senate seat to have the majority in their state Senate. Gee, it was damn damn nice of President Obama to tweet support for Mr. Barrett a day before the damn recall election. What the spark?! Rachel thinks the recall vote for being Governator will be close. That scares me because the GOBP have a tendency to cheat if it's close. Mordecai Lee is a professor who gets to preview tomorrow's fun in WI. The weather forecast for tomorrow is decent there. He's impressed with the ground game by unions & those who want Governator Walker's governatorship to go to the ashcan of history. I hope so; I really really really hope so. I'm nervous as hell. How are my CheeseHead FOKRs feeling tonight? Did the Packers ever campaign for Mr. Barrett? THAT would bring a sure victory for him!
"You've Come a Long Way, Maybe" - The Mittens campaign actually got back to Rachel on a question posed to them on the show. Sam Stein asked Mittens about the Lilly Ledbetter Act, and the campaign had to "get back to him" on that. BRILLIANT! At least Mittens won't repeal it if he (heaven forbid) wins. Oye... A couple of lady Congress critters were rolled out to show how woman - friendly Mittens is - except they voted against the Lilly Ledbetter Act. The Paycheck Fairness Act is facing a procedural vote in the Senate that will probably be lost. Mittens has said jack & $hit about that; President Obama took to a conference call to tell the Senate to $hit or get off the pot. The campaign responded to Rachel's question by trashing the economy under President Obama. They didn't answer the specific question about the Paycheck Fairness Act that was posed to them.
"You've Come a Long Way, Maybe Part Deux" - Here's Lilly Ledbetter! :D The bill in the Senate concerns how employees can find out if they're being discriminated against on the basis of gender. Ms. Ledbetter would try to appeal to Mittens as a family guy to get his support. Well, his wife never had to worry about money, so I don't think that argument would get far with him. That family wipes their $hitty arses with $50 bills; they don't get the idea of struggle.
"Houston, We Have a Problem" - Mittens won the TX primary, but Governor Secession didn't lose, either. Only in TX... AH! He took his name off the ballot. Well, he didn't win, either, Rachel! ;D Gail Collins has written a book about TX politics. Does she advocate secession? I advocate secession! TX is all about leaving folks alone except when it comes to..uh...um...hm..."making whoopee." There, that should be OK for TX sensibilities. ;D Holy $hit...so how many unwanted pregnancies are there in TX? Where do they rank on the teen birth rate?! Am I gonna be able to last through this segment without retching??!! TX DOES have 1 of the highest rates of teen births in the nation, but Governor Secession still thinks abstinence - only education is both hunky & dory. He also thinks Christ is endorsing him & him only. *&^%$#@! TX doesn't want to educate all those future students, either. AUGH!!!!!!! The only people that vote in TX are those who vote bat$hit, and they have a lovely voter ID law, too. A gun license will cut the mustard to vote; a college ID will not. NATURALLY!
