A new poll in Minnesota has indicated that most people in Minnesota are against the proposed amendment to the state constitution that marriage be definned as a man and a woman:
The Public Policy Polling survey released Tuesday, June 5, found that 43 percent of voters support the amendment, while 49 percent oppose it. The amendment would constitutionally define marriage as the union of one man and one woman.
That's a shift from four months ago, when the polling firm found 48 percent of Minnesotans supported the amendment and 44 percent opposed it.
Independent voters are driving the change. In January, 50 percent backed it and 40 percent opposed it. Now 54 percent are against it and 37 percent support it.
And even better news! The poll shows that Democrats are poised to make gains in November:
When asked if the election were today, would they vote for the DFL or Republican legislative candidate in their district, 48
percent said Democrat and 36 percent said Republican.
The sands are shifting towards good results in Minnesota!
