Let's hope Governator Scotty & his ilk are doing this by the time all the votes are counted in WI!

Let's move to "this day in history" on hopefully a history - making day in WI. On this date in 2007, DICK's former chief of staff, I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison for lying and obstructing the CIA leak investigation. President George W. Bush later commuted the prison sentence which prompted my 2nd favorite "special comment" of all time.

Bill Moyers is 78 today; WI can give him a hell of a birthday gift! :D

It's time for SPARK in our lives. :D Here's a creative response to the War on Women! Some downright evil folk are doing horrific things with beautiful ice cream. Where's Mayor Bloomberg on THIS travesty?! Finally, me thinks the Phelps "church" would house plenty of evil spirits even though it's not here.

On with The Rachel Maddow Show!

[I'll miss hopefully just the first few minutes of the show due to technical difficulties with feed & tossing size 6 1/2 shoe into computer machine. *&^%$#@!]

"Turnout! Turnout! Turnout!" - The Governator recall race & other recall races in WI are too close to call at the beginning of the show. Dems didn't show up to vote in 2010; THAT'S how YouKnowWho got to Madison. As we all know, the unions were immediately on the chopping block after the election; this issue WAS NOT a huge one in the run - up to the race. There are those great pictures of Madison back in February 2011. :D There's that horrific chart about spending from outside groups in the 2010 elections. AND, no matter what happens tonight in WI, this POTUS race - the first one in a post Citizens United country - will make the coin spent in WI look like spending on a package of bubble gum. WOW! Look at those union numbers in WI just in the last year. Holy $hit! Do WI voters not know or not care that 2/3 of Governator Scotty's donors' coin came from OUTSIDE OF WISCONSIN?! Dems got out - spent 8 to 1 in this recall race. Oh...lordy...be... *&^%$#@! Look at the voting line pictures! THAT does look like 2008! More union households voted today than in 2010; the POTUS preference for WI voters today was President Obama by double digits.

"Say Cheese" - Ron Allen gets to report from Scotty Walker country; I hope he's had his shots before he got there. Is it just me, or is that crowd behind Mr. Allen awfully white? Alex Moe is reporting from Tom Barrett's headquarters. Both sides say they feel confident. Well, don't they HAVE TO say that at this point? Only the Barrett folk are talking potential recounts. I hope it's not close enough for a recount; the GOBP tend to find a way to cheat to victory if it's close. Both sides are indeed fired up!

"Decision 2012" - There's electioneering going on in other parts of the country, too, in 7 other states. 1 issue in CA is whether to implement a new cigarette tax to support cancer research. In MT, the current AG who wants to tell Citizens United where to go & how fast to get there is winning. Oh, there's DiFi - UGH! Orly Taitz is on the ballot in CA for something??!! HA! There are 23 OTHER PEOPLE in the CA Senate primary, and there's Ms. Birther. Well hell, I'm not crazy about DiFi by any stretch, but if it's between her & Ms. Birther, I'll support DiFi even though she got to where she is today because Harvey Milk & George Moscone were assassinated. State Senator Jon Erpenbach is talking...well...guess what? I'll give you a clue; he now knows Champaign, IL probably better than I do now! ;D Some polling places ran out of ballots?? Senator Erpenbach thinks WI voters voted "straight ticket" today. Yea, can you imagine just how much more fun politics in WI would be with a Dem  Governor & a MENSA state house?! I think it's going to be a long night. WI FOKRs can tell me I'm full of it, but I'm not sure we'll even have a solid for - sure result tomorrow.

"A Major Blow" - Another "AQ #2" is dead because of a drone strike in Pakistan. I'm guessing this guy won't end up part of "fish #2" like his boss did. So, OK, this dude was killed in Pakistan, and OBL was hiding in Pakistan. WHY ARE WE STILL GIVING PAKISTAN ANYTHING?!

"Machine Against the Wage" - Just guess who tarrantinoed the Paycheck Fairness Act in the Senate today?! I'll try to dig up a roll call vote. Every MENSA member of the Senate voted against cloture for the Paycheck Fairness Act.

"I Don't Want to Disenfranchise Anybody" - The DOJ has told FL that they are violating federal voting rights laws by purging voter rolls so close to a federal election. FL has until tomorrow to officially respond.

"Art Failure" - Mittens is having a high - brow fundraiser in TX in a building that features an original Adolph Hitler painting & a signed copy of Mein Kampf. OK! The next high - brow fundraiser for President Obama will feature the finest works of Malcolm X, the Black Panther code of conduct, and perpetual showings of concerts by Richard Pryor. :D

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
