As many of you know, every summer I participate in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. It's a great cause that raises lots of money for cancer research and patients, and it also brings the community together for a wonderful event.
This year, I asked for your donations and you've come through to help me raise $500. I can't thank those donors enough for their kindness, and whenever I hear anyone insult the liberal blogosphere, I point them to my fundraising diaries.
Now I want to ask for your help in meeting a final fundraising challenge. I have a matching donor who will double anything I raise before midnight tonight (up to $250). Can you help me by donating here?
UPDATE, 10:57 P.M.: I only need $95 more to get the full matching donation, with one hour left to donate! Double your impact now!
I'm doing the Relay to support my friend, whose mom passed away in February after a long battle with cancer. Her mom was a big part of the community, especially focusing on kids who were troubled or in need of academic help. She was always volunteering for anything that needed to be done.
I know it's a busy election year, and there are plenty of great causes to go around. But we've all been touched by cancer in some way, and the American Cancer Society is one of the best cancer organizations in the country. I hear stories all the time from people who have gotten help from the American Cancer Society when they or their family member was diagnosed with the disease.
Please donate before midnight to double your donation.
Thanks again for all your help.
