Here's how Obama Campaign manager Jim Messina views his campaign operation:
Messina is convinced that modern presidential campaigns are more like fast-growing tech companies than anything found in a history book and his own job like that of the executives who run them.
Ok. So is this campaign Facebook or Google?
I don't know.
What I do know is that this is about the last article I want to see about Messina and his post campaign resume marketing.
Alright, so this will be the last of my negative critiques of the Obama political staff. Were stuck with em. Our community was THE first major voice to call for the ouster of its most hamfistedly fucked up member, the retched Bill Daley. The President is better off for it without question. But as for the rest of them, this is what we got so we will just have to accept it and move on.
But before I put the kibosh on my nattering negativity in the interests of supporting my president as he frames the general election today, I am plenty pissed with the political position this staff has left this president in. They have failed to sell his signature successes with vigor (with the exceptions of the auto bailout & bin Laden's death), and have made a pig's breakfast of the Democratic Party's political advantages. They haven't been party builders, they've failed to aggressively assert control over the executive branch, and they haven't put fear into just about anybody of presidential wrath. These are all things people who are supposed to be loyal defenders are supposed to do. So that a president can president without worry. When I look at the political operations of recent successful, and even tragically unsuccessful presidents like W, the one thing I do see is a team of underlings willing to crawl over hot coals for the guy. Hell, some of them were even willing to go to prison (Libby) for the guy. Our guys look much more like self-interested ladder climbers. The confusing messaging. The lack of coherent narratives. The throw a dart at the dartboard with a blindfold on approach to contrast arguments.
Just recently a staffer was quoted as saying "you can put Romney's campaign on a bumper sticker!" That was meant as insult. Yeah dumb ass...that's what you WANT. Bumper sticker simple. This is America.
But anyway, consider this the last of my critiques. I don't think this president is being served well and I'll continue to believe that until I see differently.
