Aloha,
In one of the most important Democratic primaries left in this election cycle, Rep. Mazie Hirono (current member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus) is facing ex-Rep. Ed Case (former member of the Blue Dog Coalition) in the race for Hawai`i's open U.S. Senate seat.
Hirono is in the running for the Democracy for America endorsement - which would provide a huge boost as the Aug. 11 primary approaches. You can help her get the nod simply by logging on to the DFA site and expressing your support:

Why should you support Hirono? Last night's Hawai`i Public Radio debate provided many reasons. Hirono proudly outlined her record and platform - which she described as both progressive and pragmatic. She said job creation is her top issue, but also emphasized the importance of early-childhood education, protecting Social Security and Medicare benefits, and "justice and equality." Meanwhile, Case used the same tact as when he last unsuccessfully ran for Senate (six years ago against Sen. Daniel Akaka, who's now retiring), repeatedly accusing his opponent of being too liberal. Case labeled the Congressional Progressive Caucus as "extreme." He also defended his vote in '05 for the infamous Hensarling Amendment, which called for the defunding of Planned Parenthood, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, and the National Endowment for the Arts. Case was the only Democrat to vote for the amendment, which thankfully failed as even a majority of Republicans found it too radical.
So, please join me in logging on to the DFA site, and let's make this endorsement happen.
Mahalo!
