In order to prevent Senate Democrats from taking back the majority in the Wisconsin State Senate, recalled Senator Van Wanggaard has requested a recount of the official results of this month's recall election.
Even though the Milwauke, Wisconsin Journal Sentinel called on Wanggaard to concede because "it seems unlikely that a recount will change that number substantially" Wanggaard decided to deny the will of his constituents and Wisconsin voters to allow Senator-elect John Lehman to be sworn in and make Democratic Senator Mark Miller the new majority leader.
Now is a time for statesmanship and respect for the voter's will--but he has chosen the path of gamesmanship and delay.
