Why is horse ballet in the Summer Olympics? What part of "Swifter, Higher, Stronger" is horse ballet? Mitt "I'm in touch with the Middle Class" Romney's getting to milk the fact that one of his wife's tax write off horses is getting to fly first class to England and get put up with the Dream Team '12 to represent America. Just a shame this year's Olympics wasn't in Hanoi so a Romney can finally "represent America" in Vietnam. But as this story of Mitt, Ann and Dressage grows in the press, so does the question: Why is this an Olympic Sport - Aren't the Olympics about real people and not animals.
Or are horses considered people in Mitt's world since his horse was given a $77,000 tax write off like a corporation. And people are corporations....
Dressage is a sport where you lose points if you have the wrong color gloves. The horse is in complete control of whether the rider "wins" via the judging of how good his horse can do fancy horse ballet moves in a tight space.
Why don't we let dancing dogs in the Olympics? How about cute kitties playing with yarn getting to be a medal sport? You want to know why the Olympics have lost their importance in the view of the American public? Perhaps knowing that horses are up for medals like people who actually care about winning the Olympics. No human Olympians bio has ended with "after losing their ability to compete, they were turned into glue and dogfood." Why don't they allow bull riding in the Olympics? I've seen some PBR events and there's dozens of riders from around the globe holding on for 8 seconds. It's a lot more fun than watching horses that have been tortured into submission prance around a bunch of letters.
I like how the GOP claims they can't allow gays to marry cause then someone might demand to marry a horse. These people have no problem sending horses to the Olympics instead of real people. I prefer knowing that America sends Americans to the Olympics and not $77,000 tax write off pets.
Perhaps the good thing about Romney's little pony going to London is that it will make more real Americans look at this Olympic sport and ponder "Why is horse ballet in the Olympics while a real man sport like hotdog eating barred?"
