Forty minutes. That's not too many, is it?
I only get email on my desktop, where my primary browser's been flaky for a little while, so I wasn't at my keyboard when brillig's friendly reminder arrived, pointing out that she was in New Jersey and wasn't scheduled to do Tuesday this week. Uh oh.
Which seems like the perfect moment to keep you in suspense a little while longer with A Word From Our Sponsor:

Um. That's right, I have nothing prepared. However, I was at NN12, and while I was there Armando asked me whether he still retained the crown for the most prolific commenter on Daily Kos. I had to tell him he did not. Worse, I had to tell him he was barely hanging on to a spot in the top five.
Before I did that, I had to check into them myself. So here are the numbers that I found that NN12 weekend, updated (which is why the diary is later than it ought to be), for the Top Ten Prolific Commenters:
User
Name ID Comments
Gooserock 7,281 124,916
Yasuragi 168,052 85,069
shpilk 15,850 84,031
gchaucer2 104,028 77,525
Armando/Big Tent Democrat
1,638/104,162 69,764
Geekesque 59,129 69,463
Meteor Blades 6 67,639
plf515 75,605 64,136
Seneca Doane et al.
99,900 63,522
slinkerwink 4,335 62,726
Any surprises? Aside from the fact that Gooserock is not only into six figures, but well into them? If I've omitted anyone, or gotten the numbers wrong, please post the appropriate corrections, and I'll modify the diary. Thanks.

There were four comment nominations tonight, which is most welcome given my late start, and all of them met our daily deadline of 9:30pm eastern. Anyone can send us great comments. Really. As noted above, when you send a writeup with the link, we are able to include it, though we reserve the right to edit, and if you don't include a writeup (or even not much of one), you will likely have some words added by the diarist of the night, which tonight meant me, as you'll see below. Tonight's submission count is gmail, 2; DKos, 2.
From SwedishJewfish (writeup by sardonyx):
When The Nephew announces in his diary from late last night that I Will Let You Down, bnasley explains what it will take.
From
ItsSimpleSimon (or someone using said user's words):
In the Meteor Blades front-page story about Kerry's Blistering Speech in the Senate on Climate Change Inaction & Disinformation, Ernest T Bass offers an interesting parallel, and parable, for what might have been - what might still be done, with action, and clear information.
From
Noddy:
In cassandracarolina's diary Humanizing Mitt: Ann Romney's Mission Unaccomplished, angry marmot compares Romney to a shoplifter.
From
Angie in WA State:
RLMiller's heartfelt comment in TomP's pro-Obama diary today outlines just why I love my Kossack brethren. I cannot agree with RLMiller more on this one.
From
sardonyx (your Tuesday diarist): Nada. More time = more comments; no time = no comments. I apologize to one and all.

Oops! This originally showed pictures from today, the 19th, rather than the 18th as claimed. Since we're supposed to post yesterday's pictures, I'm not quite sure why it allowed me to get today's by mistake, but thanks to a set of sharp eyes we've fixed matters. If you liked the pictures you saw earlier, never fear: they'll show up again tomorrow. But it's time to give yesterday's their due...and you must admit they fit better with yesterday's top mojo.
