This is my first diary! I decided to share my responses from a Obama Campaign survey I was asked to complete yesterday. The survey included multiple choice questions like how strongly do you support the President, etc., but also three narrative questions.
I wished I wrote down the exact questions but the first question basically asked: What would the country be like if Mitt Romney is elected?
1) If Mitt Romney was elected he would cause our country to go so far backwards that we may never recover! We are very aware that our country has been taken over by corporations, military industrial complex, and the top 1% (who Romney represents). We need to stop spying and treating our own people as terrorists; like what happened to the occupy movement with all the arrests, the illegal searches, detaining journalists, and most of all the use of such horrid excessive force on peaceful protestors! Especially when the real terrorists are greedy uncaring so-called Christian American white men, who don’t give a dam about mother earth, the poor, the sick, the weak, women, minorities, the middle class and our children's future. I am so tired of people who are willing to destroy their mother (earth) for instant gratification caused by greed, money and power!
My tribal ancestors of the Confederated Tribes of the Warm Springs Indian Reservation of Oregon, thought NOT of themselves but Seven Generations ahead, and that's why they signed our treaty! Many tribes also thought the same way because they knew they were outnumbered by the white man. They did so to protect their ancestors who weren't even BORN yet! Unlike the so called Tea Party and GOP! My native ancestors DIDN'T think of themselves BUT of their children's and their children's children, because they were MORE concern about the kind of existence they would be left with. They did it in order for us to survive.
Also, Obama please leave Julian Assange alone and give Bradley Manning's life back. He helped to tell the truth, most Americans don't want anymore wars, killing, hate and destruction; we want peace for all people and our mother earth to survive. We want Citizens United overturned and our politicians to campaign for us NOT for corporations & the rich. Just think if all the money that was spent to keep Governor Scott Walker in office instead went to help feed poor people, save homes from being lost, rebuilding our infrastructure, support for single payer health care, and investing in REAL clean energy! It would be amazing & the CHANGE WE CAN REALLY BELIEVE IN!
The second question was hard and went something like this, what would you say to inspire someone to vote for Obama? (I guess I didn't answer the question).
This is hard as I know a lot of Progressive Liberals are disappointed because he didn't fight hard enough for progressive issues and concerns that he promised. It was like once he took office he became too busy trying to appease the extreme right whackos! I also don't want to say Obama will at least be better then Romney as I believe Obama really cares deeply about us! But he really needs to reach out to YOUNG Americans as they will be the ones who will determine his future and our future! If Obama was to relax his attitude re: the war on drugs; especially if he STOPPED raiding medical marijuana facilities he could possibly WIN over the young Libertarians who think Ron Paul is their God! Plus I believe most Americans think locking up people for using marijuana is ridiculous!
The third question basically asked do you have anything more to say?
I pretty much said a lot. President Obama is the first president that I can honestly say I love my President! Please Obama quit trying to appease the dark side! Call the GOP out on their lies and propaganda EVERYDAY! You don't have to become and angry black man (like many of us would prefer) but know you're too cool for that, but be firm enough so they will know that YOUR JOB is to represent the 99% not the top 1%!
