Folks at DailyKos may know her from her previous run for Congress in Missouri's 9th district, but Judy Baker has launched her campaign for Lt. Governor of Missouri.  As many are familiar, she is running to replace current Lt. Governor Peter Kinder of St. Louis strip club fame.

You can catch the video in full below the fold, or at her website.  Judy was instrumental in helping stop legislation that would have prohibited discussion of sexual orientation in the classroom.

As you can see from this statement from her website - she looks to bring a welcome dose of reality to the Lt. Governor's office:

I'€™m running for Lt. Governor so that I can be part of the solution to some of Missouri'€™s most pressing problems; from finding ways to create jobs and grow our economy, to helping Missouri's returning veterans lead rich productive lives; to providing our seniors the support they need to live vibrant and independent lives for as long as possible, and to fighting for priorities like Missouri's schools' €“from primary and secondary to our colleges and universities.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

to contribute to political candidates, and I tend to be a little cynical about campaign contributions, anyway. However, everything I've seen of Judy Baker shows her to be the real, sincere deal. I've decided what few dollars I do have will go to local candidates if I really believe in them. The Judy Baker campaign is getting a few bucks out of my next paycheck.

I don't spend a ton of time in the diaries here, and she motivated me to do so as well...
