Other than proving themselves to be complete arseholes, acting on behalf of a candidate that doesn't need widespread financial support (Rmoney just queues up billionaires in their private jets), I'm not sure what Conservatives tried to achieve. Of course, being arseholes is now the main campaign tactic of Rmoney 2012
It all started because the Washington Times got paranoid (of course) about a fund-raising move of the Obama 2012 campaign.
According to the Moonies publication, President Obama is coming for your wedding presents, whether you like it or not.
In an article called "Obama wants your wedding presents", the ever terrified and paranoid hard-right rag complains "Liberals are trying to pound home the idea that Mitt Romney is out of touch with regular Americans. At least he’s not trying to take away their wedding presents."
The article was enough to spread a mixture of fear, paranoia and mirth across the Wingnut blogosphere.
So they go over and troll.
Now Rethugs aren't exactly the brightest of creatures. One of them thought it funny to set up a donate to Rmoney page on the Obama donate page. I think that page should stay, after all, Mitt doesn't need the money and Rethugs will of course understand the webby thing and what they have just done.
